this could be a good or a bad thing. it mainly depends on the type of person you & your friend are. :D me & my friend actually liked the same guy before & things worked out great :) we`d talk about him together & how cute he was ! hahaha. one day, he asked her out; but he had told me that he liked me too. after they broke up, he & i went out (= now, we`re not together but it was worth it & me and that girl are still friends ! i just wish you the best of luck. if you want her to stop liking him maybe you can just tell her that you really do like him & give her the idea to backoff a bit. (: good luck sweets !

Tell her that you like him too but that you don't want it to come between you maybe back off and let your friend have him or talk about it. Be straightforward and make sure you stress that you don't want a guy to come between you two

Well, what you need to do is you need to tell her that you have feelings for this guy as well. It depends on who the guy likes. What you really need to worry about is your guyses friendship. That is what is most important. Don't loose your friendship over a guy. Good luck!
