My boyfriend wears boots everyday and the hair on his shins where his boots cover is disappearing. Has this happened to anyone else? What causes this? Will it ever grow back?

my hair is gone about half way up.... it looks funny, my wife says shave it all it will look better, the yahoo people called me gay, but i hope it grows back, mine didnt and hasnt been 30 plus years. I guess it is just what happens some times... but I wear sandals inside (since it is cold) and the rest of the time when it is warm. this should help. Good luck

The boots could just be pulling the hair out. It can grow back, though. Tell him to wear longer socks.

Thats normal for the hair to rub off it there is a constant thing rubbing on it all the time, such as boots. The spot where my boots rubbed the hair away has been like that for like 10yrs. The only way it'd come back is if he wore shoes that didnt rub that spot.

When he quits wearing boots it will, tell him to get some socks that come above the tops of his boots, that's what I do..
