Real conscience is to see things as they are in reality. Most people are in illusion. They may seam conscious but they are only conscious of illusion which is a type of unconsciousness. This world is Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery. Only one fourth of the souls come here, says the Vedic Knowledge. We are not these bodies, race, color, nationally, religion, senses, mind intellect, job, etc. yet everyone is identifying with that. We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We have to reconnect with our maker to come to full consciousness. The quickest and easiest way to come to full consciousness and out of misery, is to chant the Maha Mantra, got to harekrishnatemple.c for details. Read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada which can give the formula for full consciousness.

subconscious is when you are lethargic, but just barely awake. when u r conscious, you are fully awake and alert. you can remember stuff if you were subconscious, but its a little harder because your brain was almost shut down to go to sleep. or pass out.
