why do people still think there's a difference between democrats, republicans?

they both end up doing the same thing, the american people get sick of whoever is in charge in washington, so after a few years they vote in the other party, then after awhile when they get sick of that party, they go right back and vote in the original party... all the while the government gets bigger and bigger and more powerful and more powerful, and you keep losing more and more rights,(because we all are so afraid of the evil "terrorists")the real terrorists are the democrats and republicans running the show in washington.

bush says he's a conservative, but he and his friends are spending money like there's no tomorrow, and whatever happened to that pro-life stance that he said he would fight for.... i'm done with voting , if all your choices are is democrats and republicans. 6 years ago, i wasn't like this, but i have learned a few things.

and the next question i ask is..........................What are we going to do about it?

There are still some slight differences, but i just can't put the finget on it, anyway, to make themselve feel important for being engaged to a particular party?

Sunday I went to the market called Trader Joes. Mostly healthy food natural etc.. Out front on the public sidewalk were 2 guys about in their 30's or 40's and they had impeach Cheney (not bush but cheney) signs and all kinds of negative things about Bush and Cheney.

I guess the impeach cheney was to get their attention. I approached them and started chatting with them not debating but talking kind to them like a brother would to another brother or a relative.

You couldn't even carry on a conversation with them as they were nuts. I could sense they were very angry and they were asking folks for money and donations but it was unclear what the money was for? After further talking with them they mentioned some unknown democrat I have never heard of, some guy possibly going to run for President.

As I got to talking to them I decided to ask a question of which I always wanted to know. But never asked but today I thought..I am gonna ask them.

So I asked both of them what religion they were? Reason I asked that is I don't believe someone can be a Christian and be a Democrat if they really know the bible and they really know what the democrat platform pushes ie: abortion, homosexual marriage etc..

Sure enough one guy shook his head no...(didn't answer just shook his head) and the other guy gave me some gobbly **** answer saying he believes everybody is a human being etc..

I told him that human beings are in prison for rape murder etc.. so what does that mean?

They were both Godless and angry. You will find that if you approach most Democrats, not all but the majority for sure...you will find that they are Godless.

It is a sweeping trend in the Democrat party that is becoming more and more obvious. Some intelligent folks like Bill Clinton (I don't like him but he is smart when it comes to politics) have even given speeches to the Democrats warning them not to be so anti religion as the majority of Americans in polls after polls say they are pro religion.

I have never met a christian that was a Democrat. I mean, I have met some that say they are a Christian and A democrat but when I press them and talk to them they finally admit that they, and I quote "Don't believe the bible is the word of God" and that, and I quote "Not all the bible is true."

They tend to say they like the part of the bible that says "Judge not" but they don't like Leviticus 20:13 which states homosexuality is an abomination to God.

In essence they pick and choose what they like about the bible and what they don't like they say is not true or the bible has errors yada yada yada..

My grandfather was a very good man and was a Democrat but as he grew older he became a republican. I asked him what was it that caused him to leave the Democrats?

He said that it was that the party was taken over by wack jobs and nut cases. He then said, And I never left the Democrat party.

They left me.

If there is a difference between Democrats and Repub's turn on c-span and see and believe. No need to watch fox or even cnn. Just look at the government unbiasly operation and you will clearly see that the Democrat party has become Godless.

Maybe--I'll agree that some candidates share the same overall interests, but not as many Democrats are absolutely in cohoots with the Corporate Fascist's as we see throughtout the Republican Party in all three branches of Gov't. The lesser of two evils argument.

Twelve years of (R) domination turned the 8 prior years of absolute prosperity into the most desperate times our Country has ever seen. The Dems are in now, but there motivated to get the Progressive Agenda in place through a more involved public that will keep tabs on there results. We'll vote them out just as fast as we voted them in and as long as we stay on their collective asses concerning the matters at hand--we'll truly get what we deserve.

-----The people think there is a difference between Democrats and Republicans because there is a difference. For exmple, Democrats today tend to be anti-gun while Republicans are more pro-gun rights. All by itself, that causes me to vote mostly Republican. (Of course, I look at each candidate's voting record and statements.) This is so important I have seriously considered changing my party affilation to Republican just because of it. Of course, with terrorism on the rise, the right to keep and bear guns is even more important today.

Has anyone ever been to Capital Hill, or been in there or the White House, I have been there for years. and they all eat lunch together and dine together. We are human beings with private lives you know. And they differ in some of their political platforms but all are proposed to save their butts come elections. They make trades with the lobbiests all the time. Trades like the oil deals with our petty little lives as they think of us in their Ivory Towers we pay for with taxes. We the People should wake up?
You are exactly correct they are all in a marriage/partnership and they are not for the people anymore. Maybe a few but very few get it?
