You will need to check with building codes and zoning in your city. They can answer that best for you. If you are in a residential only area, then no, you cannot do it. Unless you are asking if you can take a steel constructed building and make it into a home, then I can answer that for you. We have a steel home and they are wonderful. We built it in 2000. You need to consult your code enforcer in your town most towns have zoning laws which prohibit what you want to do. However you may be in a residential comercial zone and the its possible but you still may need a variance. call your township office they'll have your answer.
