Assume that Mars is at the longest distance from Earth 250 million miles and that the boat can float on interplanetary gases, exosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere,troposhere and atmosphere. Also consider that the boat is moving at the average speed of 6m/s.
So, d = 250 miles 10^6
s = 6m/s = 1/1 609.344 miles/s
t = d/s
so t = 402 336 * 10^6 s
t = 111.76*10^6 hrs
Sorry about the odd calculations, I don't know how to use the metric system well

Well back in August of 2003 Mars was the closest its been to earth in the past 1,000 years. This distance was approximately 55 million km (approximately 34,175,350 miles). To figure out how long it would take, find the speed of which your boat goes in mph. Then divide the 34,175,350 miles by that number and that would give you the number of hours it would take to get there. Divide that number by 24 to get number of days. Divide that number by 365.25 to get number of years (365.25 because every 4 years there is a leap year of 366 days, to average this out you add .25 to each year and dont factor in leap years.)
For example....If you have a boat that travels at 10 mph your boat would take 3,417,535 hours to get there, 142,397.29 days, or 389.86 years....
