Truthfully, coming from experience, she'll love ANYTHING you get her. Really.
I don't really know about the chocolate rose, but the stuffed dog is a good idea.
You could get her (any of the following or a combo would be nice.)
**Flowers-- A single rose, or a combo of others.
**Chocolate-- EVERYONE love chocolate.
**Burned CD-- A simple thing to do if you have iTunes.
**Stuffed Animal-- Teddy Bears are always nice. But I like dogs too. In fact, that's what my boyfriend got me for our 3 month anniversary!
**Jewelry-- This could be a tricky one. I wouldn't go with rings because you don't know what her ring size is. Necklaces and Bracelets are good, but make sure that if you get her jewelry, you get the kind that is silver. (Doesn't have to be sterling, it can be the cheap stuff, she'll never know. But don't get the plastic beads you may see girls wear at your school. That has no meaning.)
**Balloons-- The kind that is miniature, (The little balloons that come sometimes with a stuffed animal gripping the stick that they come on.)
This year, my boyfriend and I decided that we would rather take each other out to the movies and ice cream (Yes, eachother. It's part of the whole Valentine's Day experience.), than buy expensive gifts. But, we both wanted to do something for each other, so we made up sort of a game. We each only have $10 to get each other a gift, and the whole gift can't be store bought. Parts of it can, just not the whole thing. For Logan (his name.), I went to Target and bought a $1 card making kit. It's really cute [located in the dollor section.]. Then, I burned him a CD of some of our favorite songs. It had 16 songs on it. Which is how many weeks we will have been going out on Valentine's Day. Then, I bought him a stuffed chicken (inside joke) for $5. And various other little toys and chocolates. So, I got him candy, a stuffed animal, a card, a letter, and a burned CD all for under $10. I'm not quite sure what he got me........can't wait to see though! Oh, and there's not that much of an age gap between us and you and your girlfriend. We're in 8th grade, so I'm sure that you could do what we're doing too if you wanted.
Remember!! Anything will work!! And good luck!

You're a smart man to be thinking about Valentine's Day present's early, getting the right gift can be tricky. My advice would be to keep it simple and thoughtful. Anything you can do that will show her you were thinking about her and put some thought into it, the happier she will be.
Good luck.

Be charming and caring and attentive: A sweet valentine card with a cute saying or joke that you wrote inside. Offer to help me with something, i.e. homework, housework, yardwork. work on my car. A single pink or white rose with a note attached.
