My best friend and her boyfriend share the same birthday (different years, same date). What kind of cake should I present to them? I was thinking a 2 tier heart cake, a large and small heart. Any other ideas? I'd like it to be creative.

Just pretend that her name is Hannah and his name is Matt

I think your idea sounds perfect. I wouldn't have thought of it off the bat myself, but picturing it in my head I think that sounds beautiful... especially so if their birthdays are in February. Perhaps put some kind of filling in the middle. One layer his favorite flavor, the other her favorite, or something they both like in both tiers. On the top tier you could put "Happy Birthday" and on the bottom tier "Hannah and Matt" or "Matt and Hannah"... or whatever their name is if you chose not to disclose their real name.

Also, perhaps a marble cake (chocolate and vanilla swirled into one another) could symbolize their connection...
Good luck :)

Maybe two heads. Or maybe the first initials of their first names, if the names were Hannah and matt, one cake shaped as an H and another as the letter M, HM. Maybe make like, a venn dyagram. Or two hearts like you said. I don't know. There are many choices!

Wow, that is very thoughtful of you. Your idea sounds good. Some other things you might consider would be a cake with both of their pictures on it, two small cakes unique to them( if one prefers chocolate and the other vanilla), or a cake with happy bday messages on opposite ends kind of split down the middle with different icing and decorations on either side. Good Luck!

Well the heart thing is cool. But remember it's his b-day too. He might not really like it. You know him better though so mybe the heart would be O.K. for him anyway This sounds like a thoughtful idea, The only thing i would add is surrounding the bottom layer with cupcakes.

I think that is a good Idea - Put on the cake " You can't catch up to my age but you have captured my heart"

Make it multi layered but alternate white cake and chocolate cake to symbolize him and her, or make a Yen/Yang cake out of white cake and chocolate to show how they are two sides of the same coin...:)..good luck and tell them Happy Birthday!
