I saw it live, and didn't see any insult. After the wingnuts created this lie, I went back and watched it several times, but still couldn't
find any insult.

So, I'd like someone to answer me with a transcript containing the insult, and a link to a video where you saw the insult.

You can't, because it didn't happen.

Sorry Blue steel - I asked for a transcript. An article from some right-wing rag is not a transcript.

And that video is the same one everybody saw. There is no insult in it.

OK - here it is in print:

And here is the video:

I changed the transcript to the NY Times. The insult was the insinuation that, because Ms. Rice is unmarried and childless, she is not qualified to send troops into battle because there is nothing personal at stake for her.

Barbara Boxer stooped to a personal attack - not too far removed from some of the postings in Y!A.

"You can't, because it didn't happen." Just because YOU say so? Please!!!

Barbara Boxer insinuated that because Ms. Rice isn't married or has kids that she shouldn't be making war policy.
Liberals scream about a woman's right to choose, and when a woman does choose, suddenly she isn't fit to make policy.
What a bunch of hypocrites.
Barbara Boxer may have kids, but you can bet that not one of them will ever see combat, and in any case, I doubt that they are fit to wear the uniform of any of our armed forces.

BTW - Blue Steel & Lace, excellent answer! Don't change anything to make it more palatable for people who refuse to see the truth.

There is no insult!
Some people think being strong and demanding is insulting!1
God forbid a woman raise her voice and demand an answer form the person sent to answer questions!!
I suppose everyone would be happy if Boxer had pandered and crossed her legs and raised her D*mn hand!
PLEASE!

Boxer: Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild too young. You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family. So who pays the price? The American military and their families.

It's the same as Kerry's comment about the troops. The conservatives try to spin it into something that it isn't.

and they accuse liberals of being hypersensitive. There was no insult, just the media trying to stir the pot. I heard she was dating Oprah.......now that's an insult. See the difference?
