They went for a big financial location to attempt to cripple the US economy. The US is big news, while I love Canada and Canadians, its not #1 in newsmakers. As a New Yorker, I hope you never get to experience the wonders of being a #1 target.

Simply put, Canada has a less offensive foreign policy. Canadians tend to stick to the will of the UN.

Canada is still listed among the nations at risk, and has had terror plots against it. However CSIS, the RCMP and local police have been very effective at finding the offending parties and shutting down the operations.

I think foreign policy may be part of the reason, but I think symbolic significance is another. America is the "poster child" for Western values and decadence to much of the world. NYC has much more symbolic significance than Toronto.

This is not to imply that America is better than Canada or has better values...only that America is a bigger country with much more cultural exports than Canada.

Canada isn't the superpower the USA is either militarily or economically. The attacks were meant to weaken the USA. A weakened Canada would have little impact on the world. (This is not to be considered a slap at Canada, just the facts. An attack on Portugal would have the same effect.)

mutually as the worldwide isn't safer, it is arbitrary (and intensely petty) to blanket the US with the blame. What do i think of desires to be executed? trouble-free. enable the UN to have the potential to do away with dictators as a exchange of purely containing them. i don't for a 2d have self belief that the US asked for the 9/11 assaults. it is short sighted. the subject is that we combat by using a collection of regulations against communities and people who ruin those regulations to realize their aim. many human beings criticize the conflict in Afghanistan, and sweetness why we aren't reaching the wanted effects. as quickly as we build a bridge or a college or a highway way, the terrorists wreck it. we attempt to combat returned, and our very own inhabitants complains that we are actually not there doing what we are despatched to do. the easy certainty is that the worldwide isn't safer because of the fact all of us have self belief that all of us be attentive to better than all and sundry else. I advise this on a countrywide and a individual rely. in the previous 1939, human beings left a tyrant named Adolf Hitler on my own till it exchange into just about too late, and seem what happened then. Have we forgotten that as quickly as a tyrant arises interior the worldwide, whilst communities use terror to get there way, that the worldwide is worse of if we "bypass away them on my own"? No. We ought to stand up to those monsters.

There are huge differences. Despite it's physical size, Canada is a relatively small country in terms of population & international influence. The US is much higher profile. We are the worlds only superpower. Canada is a military nonentity, an economic nonentity & a political nonentity.

No. I think it's probably because Canada is in no way a threat to anyone, and not a super power. O.K. lets say The U.S.A. is a Rottweiler, Canada would be a Pomeranian! N

Bullseye! Canada has the sense to stay out of the business of other countries. They do a good job of expressing their opinions, but seldom use force, either diplomatic or military, to try to enforce those opinions. In short, they do a good job of not pissing off other countries & peoples.
