Seriously, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" must go. Katharine McPhee was annoying with it, and there's always someone at auditions who sings it, like now. It's very annoying.

Not if they know the lyrics.
I would ban any song by Roy Orbison, The Righteous Brothers, Johnny Cash. Tiny Tim, and the BeeGees. I hate it when people don't have the range to sing a song and it is obvious that they have no range.

I agree that there are several songs that are way overplayed and that are really butchered by bad singers but I wouldn't go as far as banning them. I think if a singer is going to sing it though that they need to pick a song that is right for them. A ton of people may be good singers but they choose a song that isn't in their style hoping to please the judges.
