1. Expertly
2. Impatiently
When a word has -ly at the end (besides some sort of noun..), it will probably be an adverb because it is describing HOW something is happening. ExpertLY on the slope. ImpatientLY she asked. Those are describing HOW he moved and HOW she asked.

Expertly and impatiently. Look for words that end in ly and/or describe a verb (moved in the first sentence, asked in the second) or adjective.

Adverbs usually describe verbs, so a way you could think of it is "how is the person/object doing the verb".

1. How is the skier moving? Expertly
2. How is Mother asking? Impatiently

Adverbs usually end in -ly, so that's a big hint to finding them. Good luck!

An adverb answers the question "how?"

so - how is the skiier moving down the steep slope?
expertly.

how did mother ask ? she asked impatiently.

u can also think of ad-verbs as words that ADD to a verb.

a verb is an action word. like quick, slow, happy
