The team decided which goaltender and which players will shoot. If it was a question then I think it would take too long and take the excitement out of the game. Plus the backups are not always warmed up and could risk injury.

well two goalies id love a shot at are Roy and Brodeur but if i was playing today and had a choice i would pick the Maple Leafs Andrew Raycroft he lets in the easiest goals and could be the easiest to score on and same with L.A Kings goalie Dan Cloutier now theirs a guy i hate, sucked with the Canucks for years and they never did anything to make the team better in nets.

Martin Brodeur. One time before a pickup game I found out we were playing against an AHL goalie and I picked up my game. I did score on him during that game and it was the best feeling in the world. I can only imagine how good it would feel against Brodeur so that is why I choose him.

For a penalty shot or the overtime shootout, the shooting team does not get to choose which goaltender they want to shoot against.

okay, I just remember going to a coyotes practice and defenseman keith ballard was the only one of a dozen guys that actually made a goal; and ballard normally hit the glass above the net. it was pretty awesome.

Ray Emery of Ottawa. I'll just make a semi-decent fake and he will be out of position in no time.
