guest houses in Jamaica...............?

has any one had bad experience...would you recommend .??

Last time i went to Jamaica for 1 month i've stayed in a guest house that was offering monthly fees. I've payed 500$ for 28 days stay and there was everything i needed (frigde, cable tv, a/c, swimming pool). I believe it was a great bargain because the cheapest hotel i could get would cost me at least 1500$. The only little inconvinience was that the shower was leeking sometimes, but it could happen in a 5 star hotel as well.
