Trophy anti-RPG system would save the lives of soldiers yet the Pentagon shot them down in favor of a Raytheon system that won't be ready for nine years.

Does the neo-con politicians have any say in this?

Much like Raytheon's multi billion doallar "Star Wars" system that never worked (Reagans Project).

I am not sure as to the exact details with respect to either defense system. However, it wouldn’t surprise me that Bush’s administration would favor a Raytheon system that is not even operational yet, over a rival system that is ready to be deployed. After all, the business of war, why we decide to attack such and such nation, and who we employ to supply the weaponry and protective equipment is completely based on the business relationships of the politicians we have in office. It has nothing to do with ideology and what is best for the American people. After all, if ideology was the arbitrating factor in all of this, we would have chosen the system that is already functional, and better still we would not be wasting our resources and precious American lives attacking a nation that had nothing to do with international terrorism in the first place.

The Trophy is an israeli system which the osraeli army itself did not purchase because it is not a proven technology. Well, the israeli army bought a couple of them so that they can fool the US military into buying worthless israeli designed product.

Thanks to the vigilant eyes in the US, they caught the scam perpetrated by the israeli company in conjunction with the israeli army.
