No. And we "tolerate" that organization because they have a right to exist.

Just curious here, exactly what are they fronting for anymore? Who in the world is both communistic and rich enough to pay a large group of people? Russia? Nyet, and they aren't even communists anymore, maybe some small South American country, but nope, no money there, Venezuela! AH-ha but no their money came way later than the ACLU. ACLU can take all sides of an issue, their main concern is the integrity of Constitutional law, and its amazing how many 'loyal patriotic' American would like to see the laws that made us great reduced to rubble because they don't agree with true freedom.

The ACLU is Law firm that specializes in representing people who believe they have been treated in an unconstitutional way.
They represented Ollie North, and got his felony conviction overturned.
represented kids who were not allowed to bring a bible to school.
They have defended kids who wore a t-shirt with Jesus on it, and were sent home.
They represented that great Republican group, the American Nazi Party, when they were barred from holding a parade.
The reason the ACLU usually represents what are thought of as "liberal" defendants is that the government almost never steps on the rights of conservatives. Conservatives never have their books removed from libraries. And so on.

I think you're confusing the ACLU with the National Lawyer's Guild.
Oh, and bettysdad, The American Nazi Party is NOT a "Republican Group." Republicans demonstrated AGAINST them when they had a convention in Hawaii in 1964.

No, I think you have it all backwards. The ACLU is all about protecting freedom, which is one of the most important things to all Americans.
I would say its more likely that any organization or individual that advocates limiting freedoms in order to protect ourselves from hostile acts is more likely to be part of some anti-American plot

The vast majority of citizens has no notion of what the ACLU actually supports, they only know the superficial "bumper-sticker" portion of their message.
A lot of people will actually admit that they don't care to know TOO much about something they think is worthy of support.

Try formulating your own opinion after research and thinking rather than having your opinion given to you by some half-wit with a microphone on A.M. radio.

They are a commie front. And they are smart enough to avoid those annoying folks who want to subvert the constitution and stifle free speech. We should not tolerate them; we should shut them up and not allow them to speak or challenge the government. Because the US government is ALWAYS RIGHT!

Yes. And I can't figure out myself why we put up with it. They are a tool of the ultra liberal media and vise versa. They are anti Christian, anti conservative, anti family, anti life. They defend evil against good. Hmmm. Come to think of it they really could be a Communist front, and if so, we are in big trouble if one of the liberal Democrats gets elected president in 2008. By the way Hillary is already a Communist. She was a professor of Marxism at UC Berkley in the 70's.
