Which school is better overall, the university of alabama or west virginia university?

for athletics, and an overall education

Well, that's always going to be a matter of opinion.

I got a great education at West Virginia University, so obviously my bias would be toward their school. And while Alabama has a greater sports "tradition", for the last few years, WVU's football and basketball teams are both doing much better than Alabama's.

US News and World Report ranks Alabama at 88th in the nation overall. WVU doesn't make the top 125.

I'm still glad I went to WVU.
