I do not mean to be cruel, but this is psychological hun. Two of my sisters have this same problem. They are adults and have that problem to this day.
The reason I say it's psychological is because you are able to swallow food and you don't have that problem. Some of the food you eat is much larger than the small pills even.
The best way to get over this is to just relax about having to take pills. It's not that big of a deal. Some people even take pills without water. What I reccomend (like I already said) is just relax, but put the pill in your mouth (put it far back on your tongue if you need to) and swallow enough water to make it go down easily. Also any pill that has a coating is going to be far easier to swallow. Don't tilt your head back when swallowing. Just follow the same steps you do when eating food. Even try just to forget that it's a pill you are swallowing. Just convince yourself that you are just swallowing water. Also, take a sip of water first to lubricate your mouth and throat. I do hope this helps!

May be you have got 'pillophobia'. I mean just joking. May be you got a sore throat. Try out some home remedies. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection . Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. More details and home remedies available at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Just calm down and keep on trying. I used to have trouble even swallowing Aleve, but I can down any pills now. Try taking it with pulpy orange juice -- the texture helps, and the strong flavor blocks gross pill-flavor from hitting your taste buds (as can happen if you take too long with water).

Try lubing it up with butter and washing it down quickly. Can you put in applesauce powdered or whole. Ask the pharmacist if it can be powdered.
