Have you been beatin buy the bible verses only to be scared into believing foolish things so that you are not the most rotten person you wish to be? Or are you truly a saint and wish to be recongnized?

Nobody is really a saint, buddy, and we all have something to be scared about.

I'm not afraid or scared. when I was 18 and first realized I was a lesbian, sure I was. I grew up going to church and Sunday school, and consider myself Christian, as are all my friends and family. true Christians don't "beat" people with Bible verses, only the hypocritical bigots do that. Sure, I've had a few people yell a thing or 2 at me...and I've seen the hateful, ignorant garbage people like them post in these forums.
No one is a saint. No one is perfect. But I'm no sinner. I always try to be as open and honest as possible. I don't "wish to be rotten" either.
I don't need to be "recognized" except for being the best person I can be.
the bigots don't scare me....they should be afraid for their own souls. passing judgment on others and preaching hatred and intolerance is what's sinful....what's "rotten."

I am no saint, but I know that those people are only giving their own personal interpretation of the Bible. They should not tell me how to lead my life because they do not know me. I have no reason to be afraid or scared because I could care less of what they think.
Those who quote Bible verses to say gay people are wrong can't see the forest for the trees; they have lost the meaning behind the words by concentrating only on the words without the meaning.
Nobody tells me how to lead my life because it is MY life.

No, the Bible does not scare me because I don't believe a word of it.

But, still, I think you brought up kind of a good point, for anyone who does or doesn't follow that faith. Doesn't it seem likely in many cases that people only do the 'righteous' or 'saintly' things that they do only in fear of what they believe will happen as a result of the Bible if they don't, not because they would anyway? I've definitely wondered this...

Neither. I walk through the "The Valley of The Shadow of Death" without fear because I don't believe in the concept of any religion that would tell Me that I MUST bow down and worship no other 'God' other than the one who gave out the Ten commandments. Just refresh My memory, how does the 1st one go again?
