I met this girl a few weeks ago from NorCal who I hung out with non stop for a week and she said hella A LOT. And there was also another girl with us. Both of us are from SoCal. And I swear by the end of the week both of us were saying hella for everything. She got us addicted god damnit.

I grew up in Northern CA, and....yeah, we totally said hella.

sure, some do, yet as Melissa says, there are community accents. human beings especially factors (quite often in the South East of england) are extra likely to assert "sure" very obviously. human beings in the North of england and in Scotland are extra likely to assert "aye".
