i don't 100% believe that American put Africans to it's current situation now. But i agree that we should help them just like Americans ask for support when bush wants to bully some country and lied using nuclear weapon as the reason.

I reject the idea that Americans have anything to do with the current state of Africa. Most of the countries are worse off now then they were under Colonial rule of the "Europeans" not Americans.
The biggest problem is that so much aid is pumped into Africa now, and it is skimmed off by corrupt governments that use the aid to prop up the corrupt government.
Then there's the glaring example of Mugabee in Zimbabwe. Once the bread basket of Africa until it adopted communist ideas and "redistributed crop land" now the people are starving. That has nothing to do with America and aid will accomplish nothing but to prolong the Mugabee regime.

I know this isn't going to get me best answer, but it is the truth.
There is only one way that the problems in Africa are the fault of Americans.......................Soft Christians felt for the starving kids twenty years ago, so we feed the babies and then they grow up into starving adults that create more hungry kids. Africa will eat the world if something doesn't change. but any way things are screwed up all over and Africa gets more aid than anywhere. So yes, us did a horrible thing we should have let nature take its toll a long time ago. Its time we stop helping the world and straighten up here in America

Are you serious??? do you not see the Darfur commercials, the feed the children programs in the mornings? The fundraisers for South Africa, I have probably given $100 out of my pocket this month to South African fundraisers, I know it's not a lot, but I haven't worked for a while, because I hurt my back, I'm a seinor in high school by the way, and my school has gone to our state representatives to try to see what we can do, maybe you're just to ignorant to realize what some people try to do, I'm not saying that America is perfect because we have a lot of problems, but we have some good point's too.

Just a thought , could you do some research ?
Why shouldn't Africa solve some of its Continent's own problems?
There are 52 countries in Africa- so what are any of them doing to better their positions in life? Do you think America should take over their governments? Increase the economic aid given ? Forgive every African countries' debt?
#2 of The Top Ten Recepients of the Gross ODA/OA(millionsUSD) in 2004 was Congo,DemRep 3183 million.
The United States provided over $10 billion in non-military aid abroad.

Most of Africa's problems stem from the fact that most of Africa is lousy real estate, as evidenced by the lack of hordes of European settlers in most of the continent. Most of Africa is deserts, vast semi-arid regions and jungles. Jungles are populated with a vast number of different species including disease-causing microbes. In other parts of Africa there is malaria, AIDS, tuberculosis, hookworm, you name it. Another problem that has plagued Africans stems from the fact it is situated north and south. When people move north or south the climate changes and their agricultural practices no longer work. They starve. In Eurasia you can travel from the Pacific all the way to the Atlantic without much change in climate, a huge advantage.

I don't understand how we put Africa in its positon, but I do question why Africa should be left to sole its own problems when we solve everyone elses. Every war, altercation or crisis has like an extra curricular activity for the US. We have enough problems on our own soil, when will we help America?

Let's say the American governments, not the Americans in general, are the ones who create the problems, not in Africa alone, but wherever its suits their purpose. Look at Afghanistan, could they achieve anything in their "War on Terror" there? Their puppet Karzai even has to use a private US security company (which used to belong to Cheyney) for his personal security. Couldn't he find even 12 Afghan people willing to give him protection? Look at Iraq? The US stormed in and now when they can't control the situation, they blame the Iraqi government. I guess its the same in Africa. I don't know which country you are talking about in particular, but I understand what you are getting at. Again. I wouldn't like to blame the Americans in general, but the governments.

that would be amazing if we could solve africa's problems, but the truth is that would only go so far. give a man a fish?
and the other thing is, look back at imperialism...white europeans would've sworn their lives that they were "HELPING" the "POOR, AFRICAN SAVAGES," when in reality they became so power hungry, and ended up wiping out a culture.
all of this just makes me kinda want to live in isolation in like, the jungle.

we put Africa in it's position? Really, did we have all those babies they can't feed? Did we sleep around and spread Aids? I didn't do anything to anyone in Africa and could care less about their problems. My mom gave money to starving African children 30 years ago and you know what? Those children grew up and had more children to starve.
