Yes you need it to 1 Update your psp 2 save games 3 use it to use the internet and 3 to download movies, music, etc. onto you r psp. All you need to save games is the game and a memory card but everything else you need a Usb cord and a compatible(mostly all computers are but there are a few that do not pick up the psp in usb mode)

you need it so that you can have backup of games but more importantly you need it for music files, movies, pictures ect.
For the love of god man, pay the 35 bucks it cost for a 1gb stick.

YES its VERY important . if not , how will you save data, STORE music , videos , pictures, etc ? :)

you dont have to pay 35 bucks, go to www.amazon.com and buy it for 20 bucks without bidding for it unlike ebay
