Check your battery ground wire.Make sure its clean and the area it bolts to is clean and of course that its tight too.Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. If still no go take a pair of jumper cable go from the pos battery terminal to the main (large cable) at the starter. Now try to start it .If it goes the positive battery cable is no good .If it does not connect the cable to the neg battery terminal and the other end to a good block ground. Try starting it if it starts now then the ground cable needs replacing.Beyond that it go ugly. Good luck hope I helped

There is a lot of good info for you to look at here but I ll just let you know how I tend to go at starter problems first with a test light hooked to ground check your main power wire at the starter
If the light lights good if not you have an open in the main wire some weres from the battery to the starter check it all over
Next thing to check is if you have power on your ignition do this by hooking the test light to ground again probe the ignition wire at the starter (its the small wire most of the time on gms purple) have some one turn the key to crank if the light lights ever thing on the ignition circuit is good and the starter is bad if the test light dose not light there's an open in the ignition circuit at this point I would pull the starter relay find out what pin is coming from the key check for power in crank here with the test light to ground if the light lights then ever thing from that point to the key is ok and your problem is either the relay or an open from the relay to the starter if there’s no power then go to the next brake point in the circuit i.e. fuse clutch switch and so on right to the key I could go on and on but I think you get the idea by now get a wiring diagram find out how the system works before you even open the hood don’t fix things by replacing part after part find the problem part before you ever buy a part ever elcrotonic system has powers and grounds make sure you have them all in the end its cheaper and faster

check to make sure the ground(-) terminal is tight on the battery, i'm sure you've done that, also make sure that the engine is grounded to the frame, as well as the starter motor has got good connections........is there an alarm is the truck? could be a "starter kill" that prevents the starter motor from being engauged.........make sure the ignition coil(right next to the throttle body/carb.) is plugged in tight, there is a plug with a white wire and a pink wire coming out of it, you can also check to see if the "crank: fuse is blown in the fuse panel(your truck may not have that) and/or check to make sure the relay is getting power when you turn the key to the crank position........the relay is in 1 of 2 places in that truck.........beside a second relay on the drivers side fire wall near the brake booster, or right on the drivers side front inner fender near the charcohl canister, if you know how a test light work or a multi-meter check for voltage at the key cylinder (will be either a purple wire or a yellow wire) if it's standard transmission there is a plug at your clutch switch, also one other thing.........check and make sure the truck is in park, if it is try starting it in neutral.

hope i could help

If it is a stick shift.......the neutral safety switch is a VERY likely culprit. It tells the truck when the clutch is pressed in and ok to start.......if it is bad, the truck will think you are not pressing in the clutch. It is under the dash by the left kick panel. Unplug it and run a direct wire from the two leads and see if it starts. If it does, replace switch. GOOD LUCK!

Sounds like clutch switch (man trans) neutral interlock (auto trans).

Get a cheap remote start switch, wire it to the starter. If it starts, then starter's fine.

I had one that I kept the remote start switch on for weeks until I could troubleshoot it.

Don't jump the clutch switch, I did once and started it in gear and hit my other car.

you might have a bad battery cable, either the ground, the one that goes to the engine block or your positive cable that goes to the starter, sometimes they look good but it could be breaking down inside the cable, have someone crank it while you bent the cables around the length of them and see if it turns over.

check your ground.the one on the battery and the one from body to frame, there maybe one from the starter also,if not run a ground from a starter bolt to the frame making sure it is cleaned from paint etc.also check for a starter relay if you have a fuse panel under the hood, thats probably were it is.most vehicles have 2 fuse boxes now, under the hood and the dash.

Those are old abs systems. On modern cars you can bleed through the system still like regular. Get a manual to check it out or google it real well. On my old 91 dodge i just bypassed the abs due to a fault with it and the new module cost almost 300.
