When I sing, I sing for me and it is personal. I could never join American Idol because I have stage fright and don't want to join the celebrity world.

If I was able to sing well, I would not want to try out for American Idol for the following reasons;

1. I would have to wait in very long lines just to get an audition.

2. If I do not get pass the judges, I do not want to become the laughing stock of America.

3. There is just too many stages you have to go through in order to become the Next American Idol.

They only want the young and beautiful.

They expect you to put your life on hold to compete

They make you sing things that stink.

They make you sing with people who have different styles from your own.

You may be able to sing but they want you to jump through hoops to get to the money and even if you doe vote through hoops you better be from the south where Cingular has most of its service or else you are going to lose anyway.

I met Kelly Clarkson winner of season 1 one time. She lives 4 hrs from my town and came here not long ago. I got a chance to talk to her.

I asked her what it was really like.. she said you only see the shell of the story on tv. its too bad she said that we dont see the whole story... and that its not been all that they advertise after the fact.
