First, I think it is unfair to place every bit of responsibility for anything solely on one person. No disrespect, but anyone who does not recognize that the system of government in the USA is comprised of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches needs to take their civics classes again (and again and again).

Having said that, I do understand the position of the President, and support that position. The United States is a sovereign nation that has fought for and won the right to govern its self. Extremists would strongly dislike the situation if tables were turned and we started bombing them, simply because we disagreed with their culture, society, way of life, availability or lack thereof when it comes to the open market.

I do believe that both sides make valid points - we have a right to protect our nation, and we have seen clear evidence that there are people who will come here and attack us on our own soil. I also agree that the situation in the Middle East needs more than we have brought to the table so far, and I believe it was a huge mistake to downsize our Armed Forces in 2001(I believe that's when it happened).

The most troubling thing about all of this is the "leave now" attitude being voiced by some. It indicates to me that they are of the opinion that nothing our soldiers have done to this point has had any kind of positive effect in that region of the world. I know that is false, that our military has done many things to improve the situation in that part of the planet.

I support anyone who supports the raising up of societies where people have the ability to make a good life not just for their selves, but also for future generations.

I could have, but no. I think he should have sent this backup to Iraq long ago. He had good intentions though. He figured that the troops we had there would be good enough to get the job done. That's his faith in the military, but terrorists are almost unpredictable.

That's my assumption on the whole Bush Iraq thing.

Yes, I have a lot of faith in President Bush...to kill more innocent people in other countries of the world....to kill more American troops doing so....to put more money in his pocket....to continue to sell the USA down the drain and drag Canada down with him.....

Yeah I have a lot of faith in Bush to ruin the world.

I don't have faith in the President. He has a myopic point of view that doesn't lend itself to mental agility. In the constantly changing environment of a battlefield (been there), he just can't keep up.

I totally beleive in our forces. They are the best, bar none!

No. AND, the men and women on the ground can be only as good as the orders they are given to execute. Germany had the mightiest army of that time, it was their insane leader that cost them the war (thank goodness).

we, of course, have faith in our excellent troops...however, the Commander in Chief is completely incompetent and has sent you on a fool's errand to enrich his friends and mollify his neocon advisers
