yea, i live in minneapolis and i have to say people from here must not be able to sing. they've only given 3 or 4 people a golden ticket so far and there's only 15 minutes left in the show. i didn't even hear about the tryouts, so I wonder if not enough people knew about it. at least i hope that's why minneapolis is sucking and i am feeling embarrassed just to be associated with the state of minnesota.

I'm from Minnesota and I'm pretty sure most of the contestants that were shown on there last night weren't even from Minnesota. I have friends who would have made it through to the second round easily, but ya know what they're smarter than that to go onto American Idol and have themselves torn down because it would make for good television. That guy from New York who is the voice teacher, you can tell from the way he sings that he's a theater teacher, he's not a pop teacher.. lets think about this he's from New York and he has a theater voice.. what type of music is bigger out there.. oh yes. MUSICALS! He teachs students to become theater actors. I'm honestly not sure how far those seventeen people are going to get from last night, I wish them the best and everything, but I don't think that American Idol shows that you've made it into the music industry.

I'm from your neighboring state to the east and yes I'm watching it. Pretty pathetic only 17 of 10,000 made it, and 2 of the best were from WI.
I do enjoy watching all the idiots make as*es of themselves. What a waste, I think there should be a better screening process to get some of the riff-raff out before the judging begins.

I'm from Minnesota and no I am not.
I watch one soap opera each day, 24 and House.
I think I watch enough TV so I am really trying to cut back.
