How do “maybe” majority of society get the values that will allow them to funnel so much of their own wealth to profiteers, marketers, etc. and enough left over to pay a football coach 32 million dollars for 4 years work? Why do the majority have values that denote commercial violent games as entertainment that is more valuable than teachers who guide the future caretakers of the future society and nurses who if you ever been hospitalized as I have so often and lengthy, know are most valuable. After all, the truest form of entertainment is “learning”; all else is but an addiction to excitement.

There are tens of thousands of nurses. Thousands of patients per nurse/year.

High supply, high demand = low or high price

There are dozens of professional football coaches. Tens of millions of people watch football every game.

Low supply, high demand = high prices.

My valuation of a nurse or teacher is much more than a football coach or a game developer. But even when people are sick they demand entertainment. Demand drives it. Price/wages aren't necessarily a good valuation. But it's what we got.

Peace

People develop their wisdom and ethics in a series of stages. At each stage their is a deeper and truer, but more complex system of values.

One of the stages - that you are obviously more advanced than - is the stage that believes in law and order. It is quite prevalent in A lot of the world. There values basically say that everyone should stick in their place - there is god who is the big boss, and then there are people in charge, and there are people under them, and so on. You do what you are told and you do what needs to be done by people in your position. The benefit of this is that everything is smooth and nice and hassle free. They worry that if you do anything different you will create dangerous chaos.

So this is the stage that is homophobic, conservative etc. because of their fear of difference. It is also the stage that believes that if you can make more money you deserve it. It is not that they actively value the football coach more, only that they don't really think about that issue. They are so focussed on law and order that fairness doesn't really enter the picture.
