I hit a skunk yesterday and it sprayed my car. The smell must have come in through my vents. I have tried everything I can think of, and my car still smells awful. Its on the inside. Its so bad, you cant stand to be in there. I scrubbed the whole inside down, used carpet fresh for pet odors, and sprayed Frebreeze, and an odor neutralizer. Now,its actually worse. It smells like flowered skunk. Any ideas? I havent been able to leave my windows down, its been raining and snowing. Any ones help will be appreciated.

I've always heard that tomato juice (or sauce?) works on skunk smell. But you have to make sure it's not going to stain the inside of your car.
Its something about the acid in it breaking down the chemicals that make the smell.

Natures miracle makes a product called skunk off or something like that. It works really well on dogs, clothing, wood floors and walls, and people, I've proved it.
You could try spraying it on all the surfaces as well as into the venting system, this I haven't tried so I don't know how it would work. You should be able to get it at a larger pet or feed store, I've also seen it on line.
Good luck! I had a skunk incedent on my back porch about a year ago. The smell came through the door and wall into the laundry room, into the clean cloths in the washer and the dryer, through another wall into my bedroom, reeked out all the clothes in my closet and my bed. And that was through walls! I spent 2 days doing laundry.

Yes, agree with tomato juice to neutralize the odor. For the air within the car, use ground coffee and place in containers to absorb the odor. My dad, a former auto mechanic, suggested this when I had pet urine odor that stayed and stayed after a vet trip. A thorough cleaning and leaving open ground coffee with absorb and neutralize the odor. Dad said he had used this in cars where things had died inside the car and it worked.

try sprinkling a little or a lot of baking soda down on floor of your car leave there for about an hour to soak up the odor,if that doesn't work try to wipe down the whole inside of the car with vinegar, then turn the car on and open the vents to see if that might work with getting the odor out of your venting system.

First, spray your car's wheel wells and underbody as far as you can reach with tomato juice, it neutralizes the smell. Don't forget to rinse it off after 30 minutes...
Next, contact a local vetrinary office. There is a product that utilizes baking soda and peroxide (I think) that eliminates the smell from dog hair. This should work for the inside of your car as well.
Good luck!

Vinegar is supposed to clear away skunk odor. You probably need to scrub down the outside and do something to somehow run it through your vent system. No idea how you could do that though.

Sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and let it sit overnight before you sweep it out.
