Yes fuel injection cleaner does work if used properly.
A 3 part system is the best.
one part goes directly in the tank to help to remove moisture.
one part is injected through the throttle body of the car to clean the throttle plate, throttle body bore and intake runners. This improves idle quality by removing carbon build up that impedes proper air flow.
the last part should be run directly through fuel line and the injectors to clean contaminants out of the injector nozzles. Fuel deposits can plug up the injector nozzles and reduce power output by affecting th atomization of the fuel when injected into the combustion chamber. The engine relies on properly atomized fuel in the combustion chamber to allow for proper volumetric efficiency and proper stochiometric ratio of the fuel/ air mixture.
so , yes, even though you "see" the improvement of a fuel injection cleaner you should still be able to feel it in the driveability of you car.
