Once you have removed the mouse, try cleaning the area with Don Aslett's X-O odor neutralizer. It really works. The vet uses it to remove skunk stink. I get mine thru QVC and if it fails to work, you get your money back. If your clothing in the closet have * picked-up * the smell, you can also use X-O in the laundry wash cycle. It is really a good product and I recommend it highly.

Regards, ~~~(O8:> (my mouse!!!)

I'd definitely try to get rid of the corpse first .
The best and easiest solution to getting rid of smells is a little carbon odor absorber called FRIDGE-IT. It really does what it says it will do. I'd buy a couple and just place it on a shelf in the closet. No chemicals and no stinky fragrances. This gets rid of the odors easy and fast.

Rip out the carpetting if there is some and paint the floor to seal out the odor. It is the only thing that worked or us when we had mega cat urine in the closet of the house we bought....
