Subscripts are number writtens slightly below chemical symbols like H2O (the 2 should be written slightly lower than the H) they indicate the number atoms in a formula the 2 indicates there is 2 hydrogens in the formula.
Al2O3 would be 2 Al and 3 O.

valance electrons are the outer electrons- they are important in bonding

anion is a ion with a negative charge
cation is an ion with a positive charge

alkali metals are in group 1 of the periodic table they are highly reactive metals.

poly- means many atomic mean atoms
so polyatomic indicates a ion made up of several atoms SO4 sulfate would be an example

a puresubstance is something with a definate and unchanging composition
examples are elements and compounds
Au gold (element) and CO2 carbon dioxide (compound)would be examples

I think your last one you mean viscosity

Viscosity is rate of flow.
Fluids with high viscosity flow slowly like syrup
Fluids with low viscosity flow quickly like water

I know a cation is a postitivly charged ion and an anion is a negatively charged ion. I THINK stainless steel is made of iron and carbon, I'm not sure about that one though. For the rest of them, google them or something. or go to dictionary.com
