i play trumpet. been playin trumpet for 4 years and i am good at it enough to play 1st trumpet music. but i play quiet and i cant play loud. and when i play it, it doesnt sound like other trumpets. its a b flat trumpet by bach (TR300) and it plays good.

i mean my trumpet plays like a smooth sound,like a woodwind, but it doesnt sound brassy. and i cant play loud. if i was the only trumpet you wouldnt be able to hear me cuz im so quiet.

A trumpet player that plays soft? Lol =D Me too, i do that sometimes.

Use your diaphragm, and use your abdominal muscles to support your airflow. Then, use more air, and literally push with your abs when almost running out of air.

I used to have a problem like that... I can't play high notes, cuz my teacher said that I get too nervous, and the muscles below my chin [or my lower chin muscles, whatever], tightens, and its blocking the air flow. so relax your muscles there, only tighten your embouchure.

Do mind, playing loud isn't necessarily good.

blow harder.... I dont know.... i used to play clarinette... thats the only way I could play louder, you just have to blow alot harder then you usually do... just practice. maybe your instrument is out of tune? that why it playes differently?
