I don't know. I mean Kelly Clarkson blew up and is insanely famous, but on the other hand, has ANYONE heard anything from last season's winner Taylor Hicks? I sure haven't. Its crazy how some of these people think they can sing and I think its funny to watch but I only watch the first episodes. I think its wearing out its welcome. There will always be die-hard fans, but most of the casual viewers are fading away.

The fact that they run the show every year really made it wack. I mean after like the first 2,3 seasons all the 'talented' people had already auditioned, and the later auditions are just gonna be those 'obsessed, but can't sing if their life depended on it' people coming back and trying over and over...LAME!!!

When will people realize that these reality shows are not reality. In fact in the majority of them the outcome-winner is hand picked. They are as fake (if not more) than Pro Wrestling.

I think it has a long life span still. I am watching it now and laughing through most of it. Some of these people are unbelievable. It must be staged.
