The story is about Okonkwo and how the British arrival in the African culture caused incredible problems as the British tried to force the Africans to adopt their culture. Each different group in Africa had their own religion, laws, and taboos. Okonkwo refused to submit and fought back which brought out his temper and ended in his death. He was determined not to end up like his father who did not work or support his family. The protagonist is usually the person who changes spiritually in the story.

It would deffenetly be Okonkwo because the Protagonist hte pretty much the main charachter and Umofia isn't even a charachter i believe its the tofn they live in right? THe whole book is how about Okonkwo struggles to prove himself strong, and a hardworker. He is trying to seperate himself by many acheivments from his lazy father who was looked at by many with pity.
