hello- i'm just wondering how to feel pretty on days when i just feel so disgusting and my self-esteem is bleh (which seems to be often lately). i'm not a really superficial person or anything, just looking for a little sparkle and confidence. thanks!

I always feel like the way i do my hair makes a big difference in my self esteem. I don't know what kind of hair you have, but I like straightening my hair. Another thing could be to go get a manicure or something. It's a little pampering and then you have a lil something nice about yourself to glance at throughout the day.

Sometimes, buying new clothes can make you feel worse, especially if you're having a fat blegh day. So if you're feeling fat, don't buy new clothes. It can result in you crying that you look gross in everything now!

Try the make up thing though. Put on some pretty make up, and smile at yourself in the mirror. How much better do you feel now than before? Get out a camera and take some shots of yourself - yes, be a camwhore!! It makes you feel good when the photos come out looking fab, even though you felt absolutely dreary.

Go for a little exercise, before this will boost your mood. Exercise releases endorphins and sends you out on a high, making you feel energised and ready to take on the world. Eat something healthy, because it makes you feel good that you're doing something right for your body!

Give a friend a call and talk about anything BUT how disgusting you feel. More than likely the other person will join in on the self-bashing and you'll just end up feeling worse. Talk about the hot guys down the road, or plan some shopping trips - perhaps the next day, so that you have something to look forward to and it will bring your mood up!

Read a book - some good chick lit always helps and makes me forget I'm feeling crap, because I'm so submerged in someone else's life!

Hey, it happens to everyone! smetimes, it is just one of those days. this is what i do when that startrs to get me down...
If i am at home, i'll take al long hot bath with otmeal in it. It relaxes u, and when u come out, u will feel cool and totaly possitive.
In a rush? I just suck on a peppermint to get my nerves down, an then, put my hair in a tight ponytain, and wear a blouse that exentuates your chest, but not your stomach. wear a poncho, or whatever is flowy, and u will catch with the wind!
whatever u do, remember...
U R BEUTIFULL, NO MATTER WHAT!

i feel the same.
sometimes i feel like my face is too big
and my hair is too thin..
my hips are wide.
my butt is wide but flat.
my pimples are SO noticeable.
my scars that my pimples left me are HIDEOUS.

but then i look at him and wonder why he loves me so much...even though i lookk like freakin shrek.
why my family and friends love being around me.

not because i'm beautiful
but because of love.

I also do the.. taking pictures of my self thing. No one is going to see them.

FOr somereason
i feel great right after i excersise.
because i'm a very inactive person... when i do sweat like a pig i feel like i lost weight already.. even in the mirror!

be a volunteer with a local charity, such as United way of America or Canada
you will meet new friends that are as kind and considerate as you are, with this you will earn a lot of self respect, and with this will create a wonderful person in who you find is a more beautifull and much prettier, YOU
it will never come with just makeup and a lot of bs from fakers

Hmmm....yes this is tough - um sometimes just making the effort to put on some hot clothes is enough to make you feel good during the day, but I find that lip plumper really does it easier - you just put it on and the tingly sensation wakes you up and makes you you feel like your walking that catwalk lol.

What works for me is to dress myself up. I am usually a jeans/t-shirt/tennis shoes girl (mom of 4) When I am feeling fat and "ugly" I put on make up, do my hair and wear different clothes, sometimes just changing my shoes works, If I put on more of a heel, I feel prettier, but when I really want to wow my husband, I totally dress up, skirt, blouse, pantyhose and heels.

ON THOES DAYS I KNOW ITS HARD BUT LOOK DEP INSIDE AND KNOW YOUR REAL BEAUTY TRY MAKEING A PHONE CALL TO SOMEONE WHO YOU KNOW HAS LOST A LOVED ONE OR IS HUNGRY OR REALLY BAD SICK GET UP GO TO YOUR LOCAL SOUP SHELTER AND VOULT FOR A HOUR GO BY THE CANCER CENTER OR THE AIDS CENTER ANYWHERE WHWRE LIFE HAS ALMOST NO HOPE LEFT HERE ON EARTH JUST STOP TAKE A FLOER IN A ELDERLY FLOKS HOME TO SOMEONE WHO NEVER HAS A VISTOE SEE THEM SMILE I CAN TELL YOU WHEN YOU FINSH THE DAY YOU WILL FEEL WORTH A LOT MORE BEAUTIFULL AND MUCH MORE THANKFULL FOR THE NEXT DAY YOU ARE BEAUTIFULL NEVER FORGET THAT JUST SMILE AND BE NICE TO SOMEONE THEY WILL LOK IN YOUR EYES SEE YOUR HEART AND KNOW YOUR BEAUTY. when I am feeling just gross, i try to smile as much as I can, even if it is fake, it actually makes me feel better and it makes others want to gather around me. Nothing attracts a crowd more than confidence and a smile. besides, when everyone is hovering around you, that will make you feel better about yourself.(which says "good-bye" to your bleh days) : )

first thing i'd recommend is looking in the mirror and telling yourself that you are beautiful. after that do something that makes you feel good about yourself and then put on your favorite outfit and accessories and go out and do whatever you had planned for the day.
