There's this guy at work he has never been married and he doesnt have kids. He is 36. He asked my friend out to a movie but never asked her when a good time to go out would be. They never even exchanged phone numbers?!

Perhaps the guy was interested but she (you) did something to turn him off and he decided that he didn't want to pursue the relationship.
