sometimes, it seems, that the more you want something the less likely it is happen. My husband and I tried and tried, charted this and that, had scheduled sex, etc...and finally said to heck with it, it will happen when it happens.

The next month I was pregnant.

If you try for a year, and nothing happens, then I would suggest both of you get tested just to make sure nothing is amiss with either of you. Like low sperm count, or poor motility, lack of ovulation, etc.

Good luck to you both!

Yes, My husband and I tried for a year and a half to conceive our daughter(she's now 1 1/2). It took forever for the birth control pill to get totally out of my system. After she was born I was put on the patch and started having problems with it so I took it off for two weeks and we are now 6 months pregnant again. It depends on what form of birth control you were on before, both of your ages, and times of the month. If you really want to "start trying" : ) get one of the home ovulation kits from the store. That was one thing that worked for us the first time. Keep trying, it'll happen!!!! Good Luck and Have Fun trying - don't make it a chore : )

me and my husband tried for 14 months to get pregnant and about 3 1/2 months ago i had to switch jobs and so we decided we would give it a rest so i could focus on my new job and not be stressed with the fertility stuff. a month later we were pregnant. just stop trying so hard because being stressed out can effect your chances. GOOD LUCK!

You many want to see a fertility specialist.

Here are two easy things you can try that may help. Try laying with your hips up on a pillow for a few hours after sex - to help his seamen flow inside your uterus. Something else I've heard (but not from a doctor or scientist) is to have your orgasm after your husband has come inside of you. The contractions of your uterus during orgasm can help draw the seamen in.

In a perfectly healthy couple where everything goes right (sex at the right time, etc) you have a 25% chance of conception each month........
be patient. it can take a long time and can be very frustrating......
