The universe is actually the inside of a black hole so what you're seeing is distorted by space and time. Seriously, though, we know that the visible universe is spherical in shape based on current observations. Beyond the visible universe, who knows?

no one knows for sure. think about it, has anyone you know travelled to the edge of space. perhaps some theories use cube to simplify the math. hate to sound like spock but, logic would seem to dictate a spherical shape. look at everything else, micro or macro.
