Rent for 1 room: $300

Electricity: $50, without air-con
Gas: $40 (if you cook)
Water: $50
Telephone: min $25 for fixed home line, if your usage is high, might cost around $50

Yes, SGD2500 per month is enough. Since this is your first job in Singapore, you cannot demand yet. After a year, ask for a raise. Especially if your in IT, SGD3,000 or higher is better.

My two single girl-friends who live there share a room which cost them S$250 per month each. They get free snacks and drinks with their company so they just shell out money for lunch and dinner, which totals less than $5.

They do not go out frequently and just cook at home. Entertainment mostly at home watching dvds. Other travels on a minimum. New clothes and shoes (shopping) only once a month. Total expenses a month is around S$1500.

More than normal, if you are to live like the local medium high income type of lifestyle. Many have less than S$6000, but are comfortably in Singapore. But if you party every other night, S$6K will be too little. Yet again, if you consider that is normal lifestyle, it is your choice. Singapore is well connected by the public transport. However, if you choose to drive, you may have to bear the cost. However, 2 wheelers are cheap. Food is cheap in Singapore at the local hawker stall. Clean and nice too. But if you eat in restaurant every other day, things will be different. Cooking will be cheaper.

Hi, That is equal to about $1,600. If that is $1,600 you should be living on a lavish life style, but check local real estate.

$2500 a month is certainly enough. But if it is $2500 A YEAR, then no, not really.
