My son has a 2000 and the only problems he has had is it likes brakes, he's replaced them 3 times in 60,000 miles and he also complains about squeeks in the front end, took it to the shop for the squeeks and they had to replace the control arm bushings and they said that was typical on the grand prix.

I had a 1977 Gran Prix and that was one of the BEST cars I ever had! That car kicked @$$! It had a 400 engine, 4 on the floor, shag carpeting, mag wheels, chain steering wheel, 2-tone paint and the classic GP hood ornament ! ... can you dig it man? That was one groovy car!

Hopefully, you're talking about one of the mid to late 90's models or beyond...they are good reasonable cars,..a little outdated but look out for lemons

Steer clear of the Supercharged model... very costly to repair... watch the small stuff... interior fasteners tend to pop and inside lights fall out of their housings... make sure the maintenance has been kept up...
