My mom thought I was to young too, but after a year of throwing out my undewear due to stains from either a) I HATED wearing pad and at that time there was no thing as "smaller for teens" and would take them off if I thought it stopped, it usually didn't or b) I was a very active sporty kid and the pad would shift around.

Finally she realised that her own judgements were causing me to ruin my clothes and left the window open for much embarrassment. So when I was 12 she bought me tampons and went through the instructions with me. I've hardly used anything else and have ruined maybe 3 pairs of underwear in all the years since.

To young for what I must ask you? They're easier to use, cleaner, less chance of odour, easier for her to hide or put in her pocket in school, and don't make you feel like you're wearing a diaper. Let her do it, maybe get a box of pantyliners to go along with it.

Its not like you're marrying her off or letting her have sex or something horrid like that. Don't worry about it. Just make sure she knows not to forget to take it out.

And yes, there are people who feel they are dangerous, but I don't know a single person who's every had a medical problem with them.

well, tampons are very comfortable... i dont really think they have any effect on age. i like tampons because you cant see a little budge from the pad when i wear jeans, and im not self concious while wearing one..... she just has to make sure she doesnt wear one any longer than like 8 hours, i think it is. and while sleeping, use a pad... also have a panty liner or light pad as a backup for the tampon in case of leakage

but i dont think anyone is TOO young for tampons... they make them in all different sizes

I was 13 when I started using tampons. It wasn't a big deal. It varies with each girl. As long as she uses them responsibly (replace them every 4-6 hours, don't use wet ones, wash hands before inserting, etc), there shouldn't be a problem.

You might want to warn her, though, about TSS (toxic shock syndrome). That should really be addressed, and not enough people know about it.

Let her use tampons
There's nothing wrong with them
and why would you think she's too young? They help her with her menstruation! It's as if you're saying you don't want her to use any feminine products. Let her use them, and if she doesn't feel comfortable using them , she'll learn that on her own.

What is she going to do if she wants to go swimming in a pool or something. I think it is fine it is just another way to keep yourself clean during your messy time of the month. She should be fine just talk to her about her options and let her decide.

you should let her.I personally dont think its up to you to decide if she should use pads or tampons. its on a persons preference. just like preference on protection.

well have u thaught that maybe she needs to swim? i mean sometimes its way easier to use those especially in school. i mean how would u like, cramps, headaches, moodswings, and then being afraid the diaper like thing by ur crotch is stickin out so everyone can c it. let her try it her next period most likely she wont like it anyways. maybe she will but let her try.

let her use what she is comfortable with. But, show her both ways, and the pro's, and con's of wearing pads and tampons.

sure, why not let her be comfortable and secure. There are Tampons for beginners that are very small.
