I really don't see why ANY doctor would prescribe weed to patients. What does it really help the patient with? It just seems like an excuse to smoke weed and not get arrested.

For many patients, it helps ease pain. Also, for some chemo patients it reduces nausea. Scientists are currently working on creating a drug that emulates the effect of marijuana, but it is clear that ingested THC alonge does not do the trick. What is unclear is whether getting it through the lungs helps the drug to have its effects or whether something else in the marijuana is aiding the impact. So smoking it for now is the best way to get the desired effects.

Seriously.. the number of medications for Bipolar is a mile long.... it takes people YEARS to find the right combination of meds. Medical marijuana helps some but makes others worse and by itself it is NOT an effective treatment for Bipolar. Medications for Bipolar (not even complete - I can see that Seroquel and Saphris are missing). Basically you have tried 4 medications that are used for Bipolar and you are ready to give up....... Get with the program.. find medication that works or live with your symptoms. Actualy, oddly enough doctor percribed cannabis is less safe than the more potent illegal counterpart. The doc. percribed cannabis is usually mid grade cannabis, not as bad as cheap mexican brick weed but its not even comparable to some of the higher grade cannabis buds. There are many medical uses for cannabis but you need to buy the more expensive variety.

In the long run it saves you money, and its better for your health if you smoke it. Normally you might have to smoke a joint of the medicinal marijuana for treatment, but if you get High Grade Cannabis(Kind bud, Headies, Nuggets, Dank, or strain name such as blueberry, purple lightning, super silver haze, ect) You can smoke a very little amount(one or two puffs) and you'll be good to go. Put this amount in a bubbler, or bong(so it is filtered through water) and One or Two hits isn't going to do any harm to your lungs, throat or mouth. Or you can even go the safer routes of purchasing a Vaporizer(makes the thc into a vapor in which you inhale) and baking or cooking in oil or butter. OH yea this kind of bud doesn't have seeds so all you have to do is pick it off the stem(less stem as well) and break it apart, and smoke it.

Smoking method is good, it wont cost you that much for a bubbler from a head shop, and youll feel the effects much faster so you wont have to redose before you feel it and end up being really "high".

For one thing, one shouldn't need an excuse to smoke weed. It's unjustly illegal, just as alcohol was during the Prohibition. But that's another topic.

There are many medical benefits recorded over thousands of years. Recent studies have shown it kills cancer cells. It also helps with menstrual cramps, migraines, fibromyalga, back pain, fever, nausea, alcohol addiction, depression, anxiety, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crhon's disease, multiple sclerosis, well you get the picture.

It is an herbal remedy for many many ailments, and who wouldn't want an herbal remedy over the dangerous painkillers/pharmaceuticals today?

Steve Kubby, a presidential candidate, is only alive today because medical cannabis keeps his very rare and fatal form of adrenal cancer in check. He was told he had a 100 percent chance of death 30 years ago and went on to have 3 kids and become an avid skier.
