Shilpa is a great ambassador for her country in my opinion. If she represents India then I know which country I prefer.
The Americans represent their country well too. I am ashamed of what the Indians will make of us.

I'm female and Scots not English, Danielle is a pretty wee thing but a nasty thing as well, the other two trolls are just there to show what too much alcohol and genetic misfortune are causing in the world today!!!

im definetly ashamed shilpa seems a very genuine person unlike jade, jo n danielle who are only there to further their own pointless n lame careers (if thats what u call them) id rather my children to grow up with a role model like shilpa n not like jade, jo or danielle they are bullying poor shilpa n jade is meant to back an anti bullying campaign shows how thick n stupid jade really is but then again can u blame her she is dating a 19 yr old they have the same intelligence n her mum is just as bad she cant even spell her own name

ashamed no
embarrassed yes
Im not ashamed to be British, Or English, or a Lanacastrian for that matter

Im embarrased that people like jade Goody exist, that they left school so pig ignorant, and that the media, the public seem to reward her lack of attainment, her lack of knowledge, her limited horizons, her sheer stupidity with so called celebrity status.

Im embarrased that after 100 years of compuslory state education that education is no longer seen as soemthing worthwhile, something of merit, something important, a pathway to life.. its seen as a hinderance, its seen as simethign that is optional

Im embarrassed that (depending on who you talk to) anywhere upto 50% of the population are lacking basic numeracy and literacy. granted if you remove the number of people with justifiable reasons for that state (eg Dyslexiam, Dyspraxia and the like), that leaves a vast numebr who have left school unable to understand the English language, unable to do basic maths... I couldnt believe listening to the radio (R5Live) today where a teacher pointed out that a pupil at GCSE level could get a pass (Grade C) in Maths if they scored 18% in an exam.. yes thats 18%.

FFS we have the FSA introducing traffic light imagery to indicate what food stuffs are comprised of... because they dont believe that people are able to interprest percentage composition and or actual composition.

Im not a great advocate of admitting large numbers of people into this country with few if any skills... but at least they have a legitimate excuse for not understanding English.

Incidentally isnt it nice to see Sluttee jumping in and interpreting the question in her own nationalist xenophobic way. if you are struggling to read the question through your tartan glasses is says "....ashamed to be British", which for those north of the Border includes Scotland, granted the terrifying trio (Jade, Danielle and Jo) may well be English I dont know I havent watched the program.. Ive no wish to watch the program, nor am I going to fall into the trap set by Channel 4 & Endemol of getting this pathetic waste of airtime more publicity. Whats the betting that ratings have risen dramatically, whats the betting that exepnditure on phine voting increases dramatically. Do you think that the furore could have been amplified by the broadcaster in a desparate attempt to boost ratings (and boost the programme makers income through phone voting). Do you think that Celebrity Bog Brother may in fact be part staged

She is huge out there and they are following her stint in the house and reporting it daily in the Indian media, so they will know what is going and it does make me feel ashamed that these jealous chavs are making her life hell at the moment!
Let's hope they think the same us most of us do, that the green eyed monster bully's are only a minority and that not all of us should be tarred with the same brush!

At last someone talking sense...i agree with you wholeheartedly...
I actually feel embarrassed and a bit ashamed at times to say I'm British, especially looking at what's happening on BB..the Brits here are disrespectful, cruel bully-girls...It's very ugly to see young women behave this way...
Shilpa deserves to win as long as she keeps her dignity...just my opinion..........

Yes they are poor examples of our culture, but I do believe that the majority in this country do still believe in justice, tolerance and decency. Jade's version of 'Britishness' is worryingly common but I don;t believe she represents me or even most people.

I so completely agree. I am so ashamed of this country. I am not like the Jade, Danielle and Jo's of this world. Thank the Lord. There are British people who are good and gracious and actually very nice. Please, please do not mark us all with their brush.

Jade,Danielle and Jo are ignorance personified. The Indian girl is pretty and polite.I think this why Jade and her sidekicks have a problem with her.
