Plagiarism is copying the work of somebody else, but if you copy a simple phrase like, "I had to go to school on Thursday," that really can't be defined as plagiarizing because that is a simple common sentence. If somebody wrote, "Although I was sick from school on Tuesday and Wednesday, my parents made me go on Thursday," coping this would be recognized as plagiarism. Copying it is fine, but you need to cite it.

Are you going to be another one of those plagiarizers like the young woman who wrote "How Opal Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life?"

First, click on the first link below to open the blog on poets against plagiarism, then scroll down to the heading, "Tom Lehrer," and read the text under that heading.

Next, click on the second link below to open the Wikipedia website on Tom Lehrer. Then read and enjoy.

While you're reading, scroll down to "External Links" and click on "Lobachevsky song by Tom Lehrer, in MP3 format." Be sure to turn your speakers on. Nirvana!

Finally, Google "Tom Lehrer" and read everything else you can find on him.
