i am in charge of chemistry club at school. the club consists of several officers and many member. is it ok to relieve an officer from the secretary position if he is not doing anything for the past 3 months? seriously, i ask him repeatly to do a small thing for the club. but he always make an excuse saying he is BUSY! i mean, come on, i am busy too and everyone else is too. yet, we are still serving the members.

so, what is a good way to relieve him? when is it a good time? what is a good excuse? where... in front of everyone or just me and the teacher (sponsor)?

If he is not fulfilling his duties then ofcourse it is okay to let him go.Don't do it in front of everyone but when you do tell him simply give him the reasons that he is being let go.It is a fact of life.If he were at a regular job and not doing his duties what do you think would happen(they fire him).

talk to the teacher first. tell her you think he should be relieved of his duties as officer and tell her why. tell her after he is relieved you would like the club to vote in a replacement it would give somebody else a chance at the job that would do a better job
