I'm about 11 weeks pregnant and I have a major headache and earache.... I mean they are really sore. I called my doctor but, he's out of the office already.. so I have to call him back tomorrow. The pharmacist said it's okay to take tylenol.. but is that okay with the baby? Will it harm the baby or not?

I took Tylenol with all my pregnancies and have four children
As for the earache, I really reccommend using Similasin. Its an ear drop you can get at the drugstore, walmart, kmart, whatever is close to you. It is completely safe to use in adults and infants and during pregnancy. It also numbs the ear.

Try the new kleenex that is out now--it has lotion and Vick's vapor rub on each tissue. They are wonderful! Use a humidifier if you have one. If not, go into the bathroom and close the doors and windows and turn on the hot water and let the room fill up with steam and breathe it in. If you are sick to your stomach try ginger pills. They worked really well for me. Cheap too. Ricola cough drops work really well for the sore throat too and so does gargling salt water. Rest too. As much as you can. Hope you feel better soon.

Heres a list my ob/gyn gave me....
Tylenol or non aspirin pain reliever-NO MOTRIN, IBUPROFEN, ALEVE, EXCEDRIN ETC...
Sudafed-unless you have high blood pressure during your pregnancy
Benadryl-sleep and allergies
Robitussin-coughs
Cough drops- In moderation

For the earache....warm shower and a cotton ball until you can get ahold of the doc

Your Dr. will tell you.....All Tylenol products are fine in pregnancy. Although you may need antibiotics. Get in touch with your Dr. about this illness.
