dang dude 160 isnt allot of weight for a lineman i am 235 and 16 years old and 6'2... try to jump rope allot because it will work on your agilty and give you better feet movement it will also increase your fourty time by allot.

alos bench press allot and work on your quads with squat ask at your school if they have weight lifting after school just try it but do it for a long time like 9 months and you will gain tons of muscle trust me.

i would go with the refrees using a video feed to decide. that can be done by the fourth official and told to the ref thru the radio. i don't agree with most of others have said, scrap offside. they say that there will be more goals. i think football is good and we see some brilliant goals because of the importance on the goals. if the offsides were scrapped, the defenders will not be able to defend, unless 7/8 players go into defence (which is impossible) also ppl see the size of the ground and the number of players for each team. it is not possible for the defenders to defend the entire half at all times. if the offsides rules were scraped, all the players ( i mean excluding a goalie and a few other players) would go to the opposing teams goal line and the keeper would directly pass the ball to the 7 /8 players standing INSIDE the smaller box; this would defenitely decrease the quality of the game. sure there will be more goals but the goals will be like the shots in basketball; we will lose the sweet taste of the goals.

To be honest, you could train and work out and try to build your strength, but at your age you're still developing so much that it wont matter so much - you're going to be the size you're going to be pretty much till you hit 17, 18 and your growth slows. Its hard to gauge whether you'll be big enough to keep playing line at that point, too, though you sound like you're on the upper side of the curve for your age already.

The best thing you could do to improve your game now is mental - the skills you use will be the same at any age and any level of the sport. Work on your technique....you can get your coach to help you practice tackling and try to improve your run-stopping game on the D-line, or you can work on acceleration and agility and try to be a better pass rusher. On the O-line, blocking blocking blocking.

Watch whatever game film you can get your hands on, and look what the players at your position are doing. Try to learn the intricacies of blocking schemes, pass rush schemes, etc. Try to figure out why the players do what they do and what they're hoping to accomplish; watch the way d-linemen and o-linemen try to strategize and counterstrategize. You'll learn eventually how to read defenses as an O-liner, which will help you be more effective in blocking and opening holes.

That way, you'll be both a lot easier to coach, and you'll have developed good techniques as reflex and instinct that will set you above other players at your level.

Like everyone else: steroids. In all seriousness, avoid them. You are better off working out the honest way. Play at least 2-4 times a week, and focus on one position over all others, like QB or WR or LB. Go out for your high school team, and the coaches should help you choose a position that fits you, and they will give you a work out plan to make you stronger and faster.

practice,practice,practice...study and learn different techs...keep in shape....if possible, study who your going to play agaisnt and find his strong and weak points. For a defensive linemen its all about leverage and "pop"out of your stance.
