In a small way it is. In this society, it's a need to look presentable to the world. But what good does fashion do if you don't have the brains to make it?

Do you mean current fashion, the kind that changes with every season and year? Or, do you mean style?
Because having your own style is seasonless. It means you look good every day and you don't need someone else to tell you that you do. You know what looks good in any light in every occasion. Having your own style means that you have self-confidence and can walk the walk.
Is life about fashion? No. Life is about having the self-confidence and happiness that will carry you to live your own dreams.

Well, that depends, sometimes, people are totally wrapped up in looking great that their other surroundings fade away. But granted, fashion is an amazing asset to life, without it, think of how boring life would be?

OMG! every day of my life is about fashion! I love deciding what to wear and buy! FASHION IS LIFE! fashion is all around us. we live IN it. if a person were wearing prada clothes, wouldn't you like them better, (just at a glance), than someone who was wearing wal-mart clothes? seems shallow, but I would.

no, it's not all about fashion... i hate people who think that way, especially snobby rich girls. some asians at my school act like that too, even thoug hthey don't admit it... they pretend they're extremely religious and faithful to god and christianity, and they go to the mall to buy expensive things for themselves. selfish bitches...
and even if prada clothes do look better than walmart clothes, that's only because the world thinks that way. if people liked walmart clothes and not prada, walmart clothing prices would go up and prada's would go down. it's just the way the world thinks. people are so stupid these days.

i NEVER cared when i was younger, i just wore anything my mom got me. But now, life does seem to revolve aroudn fashion
