A person above says "I know what you mean," and it turns out they have earned over 17,000 points by answering more than 6,000 questions. How could you do that and still have a life?
What I think would be interesting is a list of the people who have answered at least a set minimum number of questions (say, 100) who have the highest percentage of best answers. I'd be tempted to look up their profile and read what they've been writing. Maybe that would also make questioners take picking the best answer more seriously.

When I first started it didn't matter, then my cousin came to visit & she signed up, now we seem to be in a race with each other to see who gets to unlimited first hahaha. At the rate I am going, she will probably win.
Besides, Yahoo gave away gifts last fall based on your level for their 1 year birthday. Who knows if they will do it again.

It is fun to get them. Mostly I like it as it shows a sense of accomplishment. I give myself a goal and I go for it.
