It is just hard for me to believe after all these years of it, there are still people who are truly awful. Otherwise, how in the world would these horrible singers get in front of the judges?

No, they don't pay people to sing badly. The way I see it you only have 2 shots of making it on TV. You either have to be really, really, bad...or really, really good. Since most people arent really, really good...that leaves alot of people just trying to get a few minutes of airtime even if it's awful.
I actually find the try-outs to be the most entertaining!

I really hope so. People can't be that delusional. If it's true that people think they can sing, (and can't) I feel sorry for them. People who are supposed to be their friends or relatives should be honest and tell the truth. Even if they are paid, I still won't watch them. People sit at home and laugh at them and FOX is raking in the money. It's embarrassing. I wait for the true singers to compete then watch.

If the show is a set up then yes. However, some people would just want to be on TV.

as I sit here and watch the auditions, I hope these people received some sort of financial compensation for embarrassing themselves on national tv like this....................Did you just hear Jessica? Did she really think she had what it takes?

i don't think they get paid. otherwise they definitely would have paid my coworker. she stinks at singing. she went for the tryouts and didn't even get to sing for the judges.
